What's new?

So it's nearly been a month since I did anything with this site, and apparently (as I was told from someone) I need to post something new, so here it goes.

Living in Arkadelphia has been great for me. After 3 and a half weeks of getting the run-around, I finally started working at Cracker Barrel on Tuesday. So far I've just done orientation stuff and a little bit of training, nothing big--no waiting tables, taking orders, interacting with customers and all that jazz yet. Right now I don't really care whether or not I enjoy it; I just need the money.

Being away from home has been such a blessing. It's a bit different than living away from home while on campus. It's taught me to manage my money a little bit better. Not having extra money to buy the cds I want when they come out has been a bummer, but I'm over it, I guess.

Oh.... I have a good story to tell... Living at the Kappa house has been quite an experience. So, Monday I went to Wal-Mart and bought some frozen pizzas for lunch and others just to have around for other meals. I came home and immediately turned the oven on to get it heated up for cooking a pizza or two. I went back to my room to use the bathroom or something and when I came back to the kitchen there was smoke coming out of the oven from the burners and all other possible openings. I opened the oven door to find two pizza boxes on fire. Someone had previously set two pizza boxes (one of them had a stoneware plate in it) on top of the burner in the oven.

**sidenote--this is pretty ridiculous. There is a trash can located adjacent to the oven, and the sink is like three feet away from the trash can. Who takes the time to put mostly empty pizza boxes in the oven? Really...--end sidenote**

So I pulled the top box out of the oven and threw it outside on the driveway. The fire on that box wasn't too bad, so pulling it out wasn't much of a problem. I poured water on the other box and then put on an oven mit and pulled it out. The plate inside the box broke because it was so hot. I threw that box outside as well, then extenguished the fire of both boxes. By this time the whole front half of the house is filled with smoke. If we had any smoke detectors they would have been having a field day. No one has confessed to putting pizza boxes in the oven. I think they just don't want to confess to the absolute stupidity of leaving pizza boxes in the oven. Anyway, that's the story of how I nearly burned down the Kappa house.

I think that's all I have to say.

Remember... don't ever play leapfrog with a unicorn.

So, I'm sitting in my room, taking a break from cleaning stuff. Another semester, another year gone. I've said this before, this has been by far the most stressful semester of my life. No details needed. However, I wouldn't trade it for the world. It's been so much fun. I've grown so close to my friends and my pledge brothers. They've all been such a blessing. If you consider yourself my friend, thank you.

Enough with that... I'm really looking forward to this summer. I can't say enough how excited I am. It's going to be so much fun. I still need to find a job.

I think that's it.

Everyone have a great summer!

I reallize that I haven't written on this thing since October. I don't know if I should be proud of myself or disappointed. Anyway, this has been one of the most enjoyable/stressful semesters I have ever had. I've spent a lot of time with friends, but not a lot of time doign homework. That's a good formula for stress, if you ask me.

Enough with the negative. I'm looking forward to this summer. I'm planning on staying in Arkadelphia this summer. It'll be the first time that I've lived on my own (having a job to help pay for living expenses). I've always just had a job that gave me money to spend how I choose. It'll be a liberating experience... at least that's how I view it.

I wonder if anyone will read this. I don't really care. There's a lot more important things in this world to concern oneself with other than what I have to say about this past semester and my summer plans.

We fought the law and WE WON!

We, them men of Kappa Chi, won Tiger Tunes.  We completely swept two shows, something that had never been done in KX history, and we swept the performance categories (choreography and music) all four shows.  This has been a great experience and I cannot wait until next year.
